In Person Coaching

We would prefer to meet you in-person, but failing that a remote call works perfectly fine.

This meeting is designed for both parties to discuss current situation, personal history, goals etc and also enables the potential client to ask any questions they may have regarding the coaching process.

Believe it or not, this initial meeting is one of the most important elements of the client/coach relationship…

It’s important for us as your coach, to hear your cry for help, and to establish your ‘why’ – and it’s vitally important for you as the potential client to get the reassurance from us that your goals are realistic and achievable in the time frame you expect and to ask any questions.

Prior to this meeting we ask that you complete an in-depth questionnaire so we have a full injury/illness history and have a clear picture of your goals ahead of the meeting.

Structural and Fitness Assessments

We know you’ll be excited to get started with your training, but before we dive in it’s vitally important that we carry out a basic structural and fitness assessment.

The structural assessment helps your coach ascertain what level you’re at from a posture, muscle activation, imbalance and strength perspective – and the fitness assessment helps them understand your current level of cardiovascular and cardiorespiratory fitness.

Although strictly speaking these are ‘assessments’ – they will still be quite intensive and will very much feel like workouts.

The information your coach gathers during these sessions will be vital as they construct your training programme and tailor this specifically for your individual needs.

NEEDS ANALYSIS AND BESPOKE ROADMAP

Once you’ve decided to go ahead with coaching, and initial payment has been made, your coach gets to work designing your own personalised roadmap.
This is essentially the journey from where you are now (current state) to where you desire to be (goal state) – mapped out into clear and defined stages. Your coach will refer to this roadmap each week when they do your in-depth video review.

1-1 Coaching

This is where ‘Energise’ really excel.

We feel that the quality of our in-person coaching is second to none. We have knowledge, we care, and we are deeply passionate about making your training productive and progressive.

Following the needs analysis your coach will have a clear and defined direction in mind. Your sessions will be designed to move you forward at your own pace, and will leave you feeling energised and excited for what’s to come.

Our clients often speak to us about how we are able to bring the best out of them, how we elevate them to another level and how we help them to achieve things that they never thought they were capable of.

One comment from a fellow gym user a few years ago resonated with us and stuck – and eventually led to us renaming our company ‘Energise’.

“When your coaching staff are working on the gym floor, you can feel the energy in the room”.

We loved this because without energy we are nothing!

STRUCTURED NUTRITION PLAN

During the consultation, your coach will go into a lot of depth regarding nutrition, hydration and if necessary, supplementation.

They will take a full list of foods you enjoy and design a structured meal plan to help fuel your training, optimise metabolism and aid speedy recovery – all vital if you are to successfully achieve your goals.

If you’ve previously had no structure and routine with your dietary intake, we strongly recommend a personalised nutrition plan over a ‘calorie/macro tracking’ approach.

We find this way we can get off to a flying start, and then build in flexibility further down the line once we have the attained the desired level of adherence.

DAILY ACCOUNTABILITY

We like to hear from our clients daily, for accountability and peace of mind.

At 7.30pm you’ll get an app notification from us reminding you to check-in. If you’re busy at 7.30pm, you get the option to delay it ‘til later.

This check-in is a simple, effortless 5 minute process where you tell us how your day has been, regarding all of the key areas relevant to progression.

WEEKLY VIDEO REVIEW

You’ll be assigned a check-in day during the onboarding (set-up) process.

This is the day where you submit photographs, measurements and get the opportunity to tell us about your wins and struggles throughout the past week.

Your coach will go into depth with regards to all areas of the coaching process, looking at training, cardio, nutrition, sleep, stress, lifestyle, etc – and explaining any adjustments necessary to your plan.

They will also refer to your roadmap to remind you of the journey that lies ahead and reflect on the goals of the phase you’re currently on.

This is where ‘ENERGISE’ really comes into its own in the online coaching domain…

Unlike most coaches that throw out pointless two minute reviews – we prefer to provide immense quality and detail in all that we do.

We’ll always go in-depth with our client analysis and provide an education as part and parcel of the coaching process

We find that where there’s understanding, there is adherence.

Where’s there’s adherence and consistency, there is progress.

And of course where there’s progress – there’s results!

Still in doubt?

If you’re currently undecided as to whether to opt for in-person coaching or online coaching, the following advice might be useful.

If you’ve never lifted weights before, or perhaps you’ve never even been to a gym before – it would definitely be a prudent investment to undertake a few months of 1-1 coaching first to learn the basics.

As much as our online coaching service aims to inform and educate the client to do all aspects of the process the right way – it will never be as in-depth and effective as having a coach by your side.

A 1-1 coach can adjust the session on the spot depending on your day. They can spend the time and effort to go deeper on the intricacies of exercise mechanics and movement, and tailor the workout to your needs right there in the moment.

Whilst in-person coaching is more costly, we feel that the experience will provide you with the perfect foundations from which to build.

In a perfect world, all clients would undertake at least 3 months of in-person coaching before transitioning to the more cost-effective and less restrictive online coaching platform.
