In all honesty, this is no contest…
Discipline wins hands down, every time, and it’s what individuals of all abilities should be striving for.
If you’re looking at other people, or other situations for motivation, the effects will only be short lived and unsustainable.
If you know something is wrong and you need to change it – you’d be far better off structuring a plan, itemising the changes that need to be made, and then finding the DISCIPLINE to tick these boxes with consistency.
When a client comes to me for coaching, I do a few things…
????Analyse their current situation.
????Decide what needs to be changed, how and when.
????Structure a realistic roadmap that can be sustained within the timeframe agreed.
????Set SMART goals over short and long term periods.
????Provide coaching and accountability to help get them there.
The discipline however, MUST come from the client.
I’ve said this many times… there is a requirement to spend a period of time being uncomfortable to see a difference.
It’s during these periods of struggle where discipline must be strong and unwavering.
Whilst it is perfectly normal to be ‘inspired’ by other peoples achievements – there always needs to be an element of discipline when it comes to achieving our own.
If your WHY is strong – you will find discipline comes easy.
Just don’t make the mistake of leaving ‘finding your why’ too late!
If you need help with your ‘WHY’ – or if you know that things need to change, but don’t know ‘HOW’ – complete the contact form and book a call.
